We have been restoring property damage in Orange County for over thirty years.

SERVPRO® of Tustin and SERVPRO® of Orange/Villa Park have been restoring residential and commercial property damage in Tustin and Orange County for over thirty years! Here are some Google Reviews that say it all:

“SERVPRO came to my house to do a covid cleaning, and they were super responsive, professional, and friendly! They gave me the direct number of the person who would be cleaning my home, and he was readily available to answer any of my questions. They told me they could come the next day, and they even lowered their price by $200 to accommodate my situation. The cleaning was quick and effective, and it gave my roommate and me great peace of mind. I highly recommend SERVPRO!” Zoe Massman-Johnson

“SERVPRO of Tustin handled really complicated water damage that we had in our condo in Rancho Santa Margarita. It flooded not just our unit, but our two lower neighbors as well. Everyone was well taken care of and the crew was really great at explaining the process the entire time. Thank you to their entire team for a job well done!” Troop Cookies

Happy Customers

SERVPRO® of Tustin and SERVPRO® of Orange/Villa Park has been serving the cleanup and restoration needs of Orange residents and commercial businesses for over 30 years, and we are committed to creating the best customer experience for every customer we serve. Here is a customer testimonial from our website:

“The stress of having a flood at our home was made easier by SERVPRO of Tustin. We discovered a major water leak in our upstairs master bath and bedroom which also flooded our garage.  Our insurance company called SERVPRO who responded and stayed at our home until 4 a.m.  They showed up every day (and on time) to check on the drying process.  When that was completed, we had their crew repair the walls and paint. That crew was great. The last thing that needed to be done was to stretch, clean and deodorize our carpet.  Again, the SERVPRO crew showed up on time and did not leave until everything was perfect. I can't say enough about how professional everyone at this company has been. I would like to especially thank Joe Valencia who is a perfectionist when it comes to his job.  Great work by this company and I would recommend them to anyone.” Jerry N., Orange, CA

COVID

12/17/2020 (Permalink)

“Keeping Your Doors Open”

Creating a safe workplace with COVID takes proactive and reactive measures.  A full list of guidelines for California can be found on the State of California’s website.  Here are some key points

Proactive measures include implementing a regular cleaning and disinfecting program.  Employees should be provided with masks, gloves, disinfecting wipes &/or spray for their workspace.  Have hand sanitizer or wipes near commonly used surfaces such as copiers, kitchen appliances etc.  Practice physical distancing of at least 6 feet between persons at the workplace when possible.  At our SERVPRO® office, we take the additional step of Ultra Low Volume (ULV) fogging of SERVPROXIDE on Monday, Wednesday and Friday prior to our office staff’s arrival.  The fogging lands on areas that might not be cleaned during wiping and adds an additional layer of disinfecting.

Should an employee be suspected of or have a confirmed case of COVID, the following steps should be taken to return the workspace for safe occupancy:

  • Temporarily close the general area where the infected employee worked until cleaning is completed.
  • Conduct deep cleaning of the entire general area where the infected employee worked and may have been, including breakrooms, restrooms and travel areas, with a cleaning agent approved for use by the EPA against coronavirus. It should ideally be performed by a professional cleaning service such as SERVPRO® of Tustin.

SERVPRO of Tustin is Here to Help® and ready to respond should your property need disinfecting and cleaning.  We are local and ready to serve our community in Orange County.

Christmas Tree!

12/16/2020 (Permalink)

Oh Christmas Tree!

So many of us love a real Christmas tree for the smell and other reasons. But there's a real chance that by December 25 your tree will get dry and brittle if you don’t take care of the tree. SERVPRO of Tustin has rounded up some tips for making sure that your tree looks alive and well come Christmas morning.

How long do Christmas trees last? With proper care, most real Christmas trees should last at four to five weeks or more. That means, if you decorate for Christmas in early December, your tree may survive beyond the holiday festivities.

With a fresh cut to the trunk, your tree will absorb water, as long as you keep your tree stand filled with fresh water.  The rule of thumb is for every inch in trunk diameter fill the stand with one quart of water.  Reservoirs typically hold 1 to 2.5 gallons of water.  The water should always cover the cut end of the trunk. Refill as needed.

Remember to keep your tree away from heat sources like radiators, stoves and fireplaces.  Heat sources will dry out your tree quickly.  If possible, lower your thermostat. If you have a humidifier, place it in the room with the tree to add moisture to the air.  Do not overload your circuits.  Replace faulty strings of lights and connect strings together per manufacturers recommendations.  Do not leave the tree unattended or on overnight.

Christmas trees are the top fire hazard during the holidays.  It takes only a minute to fill a room with scorching heat and noxious fumes.  Be sure your smoke detector is working in your home.

SERVPRO or Tustin is local and ready to help for holiday disasters.  We have crews ready to respond Christmas Day and New Year’s Day.  Stay safe and healthy this year!!

Algae vs Mold

9/3/2020 (Permalink)

The photo shows the difference between what Algae looks like vs mold growth.

Algae

Algae is naturally occurring. It enjoys a life of moisture and sunshine. It is a moss-like plant that moves via airborne spores. It is more common in humid climates and commonly becomes an issue on shingles and exterior walls and walkways that stay damp. It is typically green to dark green.  Algae may grow in well-lit bathrooms as well.

Mold

Mold prefers damp, dark warm areas that are not ventilated well, such as within walls, behind or under furniture, wet flooring, attics and basements.  Mold needs damp organic matter to grow on such as paper, dirt, wood.  It does not grow on inorganic matter such as concrete, glass, metal, synthetic carpet, etc.  Mold may be present on inorganic materials if there is organic matter on the surface to feed on.

if you suspect to have visible mold, don't hesitate to call us for an assessment. Our team is highly qualified and always ready to help. SERVPRO Of Tustin 714)480-1340

Because We Care!

4/7/2020 (Permalink)

At SERVPRO, our number one priority is to make our customers happy. It may sound like the impossible task; after all, we are arriving on the scene when circumstances for our customers are devastating. A fire in their home, a busted pipe which has caused water damage in their kitchen, mold in their office buildings. These are difficult situations emotionally which is all the more reason for our employees to be sensitive to what our customers are dealing with. Many times, depending upon the damage we are mitigating, we could spend days, weeks, or even months in customer’s home or office. We get to know our clients one on one. We get to meet their children. We get to hear about their families. We know their pets’ names. We get to know them by carefully handling all of their cherished possessions, sometimes cleaning them and packing them away until their homes are restored. At the end of the day, we are just people helping people.  That’s what it’s all about.

The Summer Heat May Affect Your Appliances

2/26/2020 (Permalink)

You know those hot summer days when you can feel the sun sucking away all your energy? Well, the same thing can happen to your household appliances during the summer too. When the weather gets hot, there are some preventative measures you can take to protect the systems and appliances in your home.

The higher temperatures outside can create a buildup of moisture on your appliances inside. This extra moisture can cause appliances to degrade faster, and can potentially cause electrical shocks. Appliances can also sweat, causing water to settle around cords and wires. It can also flood the interior of the system, which can potentially lead to mold.

You also must be wary of your appliances overheating. Appliances may have higher surface temperatures, and can lose function when overheated, or require more electricity to work properly. Most appliances use more energy during summer months because they have to work even harder to maintain a cool temperature themselves.

AC Units often have to work harder in the summer because in addition to cooling your home, they also work to remove moisture from the air. Consider installing a dehumidifier with your HVAC system, or using one in rooms where it gets hottest. The dehumidifier can remove moisture from the air and allow the Air Conditioner to work solely on cooling your home.

You should also maintain regular cleaning/maintenance of your unit’s filters and coils in order to ensure that it is working properly. The same should go for your fridge/freezer. Dirty coils can lead to overheating, which could leave you without an AC unit or a fridge.

Your fridge should also be kept somewhere cool (avoid hot garages). Once you find the right place for your fridge, be sure to give it ample breathing room. The fridge needs enough room to release heat, but you don’t want that heat to become trapped and cause the unit to overheat and stop working.

You should maintain regular upkeep and maintenance of all of your household appliances all year long, but it's especially important to be mindful of how they can be affected in this summer heat. Should you require emergency services, call SERVPRO of Tustin 24/7 at 714-480-1340
