Pack-Outs
A pack-out
involves moving a customer’s contents to the
SERVPRO of Tustin Restoration Center for cleaning
and storage. Usually the pack-out will facilitate
a quicker restoration of the damaged structure.
There are many other reasons for moving the
contents out of a structure.
-
To enable a
quicker repair/restoration process.
-
To protect
items from potential damage caused by repair and
construction activities.
-
If the
contents require extensive restoration.
-
The structure
may be damaged to such an extent the contents
also could become damaged or security may be an
issue.
-
The structure
may be saturated with so much water the contents
could become damaged as the moisture in the
interior air seeks a state of equilibrium with
the contents that then absorb moisture.
The
Pack-Out Process
The pack-out
process can be broken down into six distinct
categories:
-
Digitally
photograph or video the job site.
-
Perform an
initial scope & job estimate.
-
Pack, tag and
inventory the contents.
-
Move the
contents to the Restoration Center, clean,
deodorize and repack.
-
Storage of the
contents until the customer is ready to receive
them.
-
Move items
from our Restoration Center back to the customer
SERVPRO of
Tustin will work with the customer coordinating
the move back to accommodate their needs. It is
customary to place furniture back in its original
location. Whether or not SERVPRO of Tustin unpacks
the boxes on the move back depends on the customer
and their insurance coverage. |
